Gender Disparity and the Divine Right of Kings
This literary analysis examines the Arthurian legends collected in Le Morte d'Arthur through a feminist lens. I brought up the concept of "rape-by-deception" also known as "rape-by-fraud" in reference to the conception of King Arthur. I cited a California legal case from 2008 in which the rapist was not convicted because California law at the time contained a loophole which limited the legal definition of rape by deception to only include the impersonation of a husband, not an unmarried partner.
Chicago Manual of Style Analysis
In this essay, I analyzed the 18th edition of the Chicago Manual of Style. I demonstrated a clear understanding of the role that CMOS plays in the larger publishing sphere, as well as the role of style guides as a rhetorical genre.
TEFL Lesson Plan
I earned a certificate to teach English as a foreign language. Displayed on the left is an example lesson plan I created for a hypothetical class of English language learners. This lesson plan draft displays my understanding of linguistic rules and my ability to impact this knowledge onto others.
Creative Writing: Binary Stars
The title of this short fiction piece is a play on star-crossed lovers. In astronomy, two stars that remain caught in each other's orbit are called binary stars.
